2018 Andalucian Championships.

This year the Andalucian Championships were held in Almeria Province. The Matches were shared between Indalo Bowls Club and Almeria Bowls Club.
Malaga Province has a strong history in these Championships and 45 bowlers went to try to maintain that record.

Competing in five disciplines, Men's Singles, Ladies Singles, Men's Pairs, Ladies Pairs and Mixed Fours we had high expectations of our bowlers - and they didn't disappoint.

At the semi final stage we had 3 Ladies in their Singles, 3 teams in the Ladies Pairs, 3 Men in the Men's Singles and 2 teams in both the Men's Pairs and Mixed Fours.

It was no surprise then that the Ladies Singles and Ladies Pairs were all Malaga Finals. Margaret Kain just pipped Lynda Hall to win their Singles match after reaching 17-17. Lynn Metcalfe and Mary Dethridge just pipped Maureen Fewing and Judy Banfield on the last end of their Pairs match. Two really exciting matches.
Marcus Smith came back from 17-12 down to win an excellent final against John Debdon 21-17, while we failed to make the Men's Pairs Final, it being an all Indalo affair.
In the Mixed Fours Lynn Metcalfe, Ron Jones, Julian Thomas and Sue Jones took a comfortable victory against an Indalo team to make it FOUR trophies out of Five for the triumphant Malaga contingent.
Congratulations to all the Semi-Finalist, Finalists and of course Winners!
